Lauscha Glass
Modern glass production began in
Lauscha 1597. Glass craftsmen and
designer from the Lauscha glass works have
been handing down their experience over
the centuries, at the same time always keeping
abreast of technological development.
We have been making our coloured glass
tubes an rods in the former „Seppenhütte“
since 1853. Just like in past times, we melt
our glass in furnaces called „Hafenöfen“
and pull the tubes and rods by hand.
That's the reason why we are able to melt
each colour or even design special stripe
ornaments.
