"The base glass is a cross between grey and medium blue, almost antique looking. I preheated this rod to avoid any shockiness. This glass wasn’t stiff but didn’t melt like butter - more of something in-between these two. I worked these on fairly small beads [15mm] and you can see the streamers inside. Carnival can produce both a subtle or striking look depending on the size of the beads and how the randomness of the colour is applied and worked. Either way on small or large beads this colour will either give you a subtle look [smaller beads] or more of a celebration style in bigger beads with layers of glass built up. I do feel that the effect of this glass would be more suited to a larger bead that allows for many layers of glass with a carefree/freehand design to really showcase the streamers inside. Worked great with silver glass. No bubbling or any issues when working the glass in the flame and when heating and cooling on repeat." – Juliette Mullett |
