"Purple Luster is definitely one of my favourites and can be many colours depending on how you use it.
I like the colour best unencased because of the ability to use the flame to control how much blue will be on the surface. This colour has silver in it, so the amount of reduction you use in your flame settings during the making of the piece will determine how much silver fumes over your work as you manipulate it.
Encasement can yield results of softer, more gradient tones" - Mike Shelbo
