Madeline has been lampworking since 2006. She has demonstrated both nationally and internationally.
Normal and simple are not things that feature much in her creative vocabulary! Most of her work is layered with different glass and
techniques, sometimes sculpted into animals and goddesses (or all of the above!)
Madeline loves both colour and sculpting. Molten glass just offers so many wonderful opportunities for both. Silver glass particularly presents an exciting challenge, and an element of chaos, those changes in colour from one part of a bead to another can give such beauty and richness, and of course you never quite know exactly what you'll get until you open the kiln!
"Fancy Ingredients and Floral Focals"
This class will be loaded with silver glass and sparkle! We'll have fun with techniques and recipes that you can use individually, or together, or mix and match them with your existing techniques.
First, we will make a selection of different components, including shards and wig wag canes with various recipes. We'll make goldstone stringers and use them to draw on beads, and I'll show you how to make my sparkly peacock feather on a silver glass bead. I will also teach you how to make my special 3D flowers.
We'll make beads focusing on each technique and then we'll layer them up to create some really fancy focal beads!
