Angela Kennedy - Silversmithing

Angela uses traditional Silversmithing techniques to produce beautiful contemporary silver jewellery. Each piece is individually designed and handcrafted using materials of the highest quality, including sterling silver, brass and semi precious stones.

 

Angela is largely self taught taking inspiration from the latest contemporary living styles and perfecting her technique through her designs, sales and positive feedback! Angela showcases her work at various craft fairs and on her on-line shop.

 Angela is excited to be joining us again at this years Flame Off and is looking forward to teaching this wonderful craft to others.

Stone Setting Day - Thursday 12th -

Stone setting day - 12th April

Thursday 12th April 2012 – Stone setting day (cabochons)

 

This one day workshop teaches students how to master setting cabochon stones. This course is for students with some basic jewellery making skills but beginners are very welcome. It is anticipated that students will take home 2 completed items of jewellery.

The workshop will run 10am to 5pm and costs and includes all materials (sterling silver, fine silver bezel wire, several gemstone cabochons of various sizes) an information pack, use of all tools and equipment. If you have small glass cabochons you wish to set then bring them along!

Introduction to Jewellery Making 1/2 day

Friday 13th April

10am - 1pm

  During this workshop you will be learning the properties of sterling silver and how we can alter its shape using hammers, mandrels and doming blocks. Students will cover the basic techniques of soldering, filing, drilling, sawing and polishing. You will make 1 piece of silver jewellery to take home. This is a great way to introduce you to this wonderful craft!

   The workshop will run 10am to 1pm and costs includes all materials, an information pack, use of all tools and equipment.

Introduction to textures, 1/2 day

Saturday 14th April 2012 – Introduction to exploring textures (1/2 day)

   Here students will learn how to produce different textures using various tools such as hammers, punches and stamps. You will also learn reticulation and granulation techniques to create 1 piece of sterling silver jewellery. You will also learn basic techniques such as soldering, filing, drilling, sawing and polishing. 

   The workshop will run 10am to 1pm and cost includes all materials, an information pack, use of all tools and equipment.
